What to expect at Cheongun Village
Cheongun Village sits between South Korean border control on its west side and the Russian border control on its east side. North across the Hajin River is the Russian Border, foggy and closed for now. Expressway No. 1, the main freeway across Hajin, runs along the southern edge of the village.
Everything here is Low threat except the Heavenly Luck Casino, rated High. It is a multi-floor complex with an underground car park and gambling halls on several floors. Most of it has no mains power, so visibility is poor among the machines and the official guide recommends night vision goggles.
The western outskirts have fewer buildings and denser woods. Before the war this was where locals came to gamble, which is why so much of the village is built around the casino.
Cheongun Village tips
- Bring NVGs for the casino; the floors are mostly unlit.
- Expressway No. 1, the main freeway across Hajin, runs along the south edge of the village.
- Everything outside the casino is Low threat, good for early looting.
