MW4 Campaign Collectibles: Intel, Notes and Trophies

MW4 campaign collectibles are concentrated in four of the 16 missions, and most of them are in one: Stranded, mission 10, with 58 notes, yellow supply crates and supplies for your base camp. Unlike older Call of Duty games, the collectible intel is not a single “Intel” item; trophy guides list notes, contraband, crates, supplies and dog tags. Nothing is missable, because mission select opens after the story.

Where the MW4 campaign collectibles are, by mission

#MissionWhat to collect
3Following Orders7 items for the No Stone Unturned trophy: 3 contraband items and 4 notes
8AssassinsKeypad codes; Revenge and Pacifist trophies
10Stranded58 notes (any 50 for Noteworthy), yellow supply crates, 40 supplies for 4 base camp repairs
13EscapeDog tags for the Never Forgotten trophy

Counts are from the PowerPyx trophy guide and CODMunity, both written from the released game. Activision has not published collectible counts.

Stranded: notes, crates and supplies

Stranded is the semi-open mission behind North Korean lines. You move between outposts, collect resources and return to a base camp to upgrade your gear, a loop critics compare to DMZ. It holds the campaign’s biggest set of collectibles:

A map of every note and crate position in Stranded is the most useful thing we could add here, and we will only draw one once we have checked the positions in the game ourselves. Until then, the full-text guides linked below have screenshots for each item.

Following Orders, Assassins and Escape

Following Orders (mission 3) has seven items for the No Stone Unturned trophy: three contraband items and four notes. These notes do not count towards Noteworthy. Assassins (mission 8) has keypad codes that guides list for the library, kitchen and bunker doors, and two mission trophies, Revenge and Pacifist. Escape (mission 13) has dog tags for Never Forgotten.

All 18 MW4 campaign trophies

The PlayStation list has 18 trophies, 8 Gold and 10 Silver, with no Platinum, and every one is earned in the campaign. It first appeared in PlayStation Network data on 13 October and matches the guides written after release. Xbox and Steam achievement lists were not readable for us yet.

Best order to get every MW4 collectible

  1. Play the story once on any difficulty and pick up what you see. Nothing locks you out.
  2. Unlock Realism by finishing once, then do a Realism run if you want those trophies. Per PowerPyx it is Veteran with no HUD and friendly fire on.
  3. Use mission select to clean up Stranded, Following Orders, Assassins and Escape with a guide open.

Expect 15 hours or more for everything; see how long the MW4 campaign is. If you are heading into DMZ next, the campaign’s Hajin City missions are the same area as the DMZ map, and our Hajin map marks its 13 points of interest.
